Therapist / Utkala Maringanti, LMFT-A
In many communities, including South Asian and immigrant cultures, conversations about relationships, intimacy, and sexual health are often cloaked in stigma and silence. This can leave couples feeling isolated and unsupported as they navigate challenges such as emotional disconnect, desire discrepancies, or cultural expectations. As a child of Indian immigrants, I understand the delicate balance between honoring cultural values and seeking personal fulfillment. I believe couples and individuals don’t have to face these struggles alone.
As a couples and sex therapist, I take a holistic approach, incorporating Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) into my work. I recognize that intimacy is deeply intertwined with emotional, relational, cultural, and systemic factors. EFT helps uncover and repair emotional wounds, fostering stronger bonds between partners, while IFS supports individuals in understanding and healing the internal dynamics that influence their behaviors and relationships. Whether you’re navigating infidelity, communication breakdowns, or sexual health concerns, we’ll address all aspects of your relationship in a way that feels safe, respectful, and culturally sensitive.
Working with me, you can expect a supportive, judgment-free space where we’ll explore the complexities of intimacy and relationships with curiosity and care. My goal is to help you and your partner build deeper emotional and physical connections, rediscover trust, and create a relationship that feels fulfilling and authentic to both of you. Together, we’ll embrace growth and healing, honoring the unique dynamics of your partnership.
