“AACHI’s internship program provided me with valuable firsthand insight into the public health and nonprofit sectors to which I never had prior exposure. The internship was tailored to align with my professional and personal interests working with Asian American communities, offering a meaningful opportunity for self-discovery and exploration.” – Former Intern
“Interning with AACHI gave me the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to community health initiatives while learning from passionate, mission-driven leaders. This organization is a lifeline for immigrants living in central Austin. I left with new skills, a deeper cultural understanding, and lasting inspiration in this field of work for the Asian immigrant community in Austin, Texas.” – Operations Intern, Spring 2025
Leadership Development
“I really appreciated my internship time at AACHI and truly believe it is half of the reason I got my current job since there is a huge focus on holistic healthcare and offering resources for numerous minoritized communities. (One of my directors told me he remembered AACHI doing vaccines during COVID at MT supermarket when he heard I interned here!) With Shutong as my supervisor, she was a great teacher by providing so much context behind each operational task to support the “why” and creating opportunities for us to apply this new knowledge to various tasks, getting us out of our comfort zone sometimes.
