Therapist / Miranda Nadeau, PhD
I am a deeply engaged licensed psychologist serving adults, couples, and groups, and I’m passionate about helping people tap into their strengths to craft a life worth celebrating.
I already know you are worthy of a life full of joy. You are innately deserving of love and compassion, though you may have been told that you aren’t enough. Just as a modest acorn contains all it needs to become a hearty oak tree, all you need to deepen self-awareness and grow as a person and a partner is already within you. My specialties include LGBTQ+ affirming therapy and counseling for multiracial & Mixed race folks, focused on your relationships with others and with yourself. I’m excited to learn more about you.
I earned my doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) in Counseling Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin. As an E.Passport PSYPACT psychologist, I am privileged to work with clients in 32 states across the U.S. I completed my doctoral internship at the Texas A&M University Student Counseling Service. Previously, I received a master’s degree from UT Austin and received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rice University. These days I am unlearning and decolonizing my mind & body of knowledge so I can really meet you where you are.
I’ve pursued specialized training in several therapies, including experiential, somatic approaches; acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT); dialectical behavior therapy (DBT); trauma-informed care; Internal Family Systems (IFS); Buddhism-informed approaches to psychotherapy; advanced couples therapy; and psychedelic-assisted therapy (specifically the MAPS MDMA protocol). In my work with clients, I blend these therapies together with a client-centered, relational cultural, and feminist approach, customizing the treatment for each new client I sit down with.
